Reindeer Games

The holidays are fast approaching! (Can you believe it is already December?!) And Christmas music has been on the airwaves for weeks now.

I’ve been decorating the store (and my apartment) with all manner of cute woodland creatures and snow people.

This little Reindeer was drawn using my trusty Copic markers and pens, Papermate Flair pen, Sharpies, and Prismacolor. A little bit of chalk marker was used for some of the white highlights. I plan on drawing these much larger and reproducing them for decorations around the store. Stay tuned!

Rudolph the THREAD Nosed Reindeer

You know Dasher and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all? It’s Rudolph, the THREAD-nosed reindeer!

I made this fun Christmas decoration the other day and I’ve been dying to share it ever since. This is a decorative embroidery I made using custom PAINT BY NUMBER FABRIC. The fabric was custom made using vintage paint by number artwork, which I then placed in a faux-bois embroidery hoop. The snowflake and Red-Nose embroidery was hand-applied and the whole piece is finished in the back to make the artwork more durable and to prevent any threads from coming loose.

The perfect addition to any Christmas decor. Just the right amount of Christmas and Kitsch to really make a place. A fun take on paint by number in a more manageable size. This is a Pink Toe Press EXCLUSIVE. You won’t find this anywhere other than the Pink Toe Press Etsy shop.

This Year’s Christmas Card

Every year, around June or July, I have the brilliant idea to get my Christmas Cards and Christmas merchandizing plans together for Pink Toe Press. Last year I had a fairly legitimate excuse to not get any of that done (see: cross-country move in the middle of December). This year I got something together a little later in the game than I would have hoped. But better late than never, right?

I really enjoy the movie Elf and I wanted to make a card that features the famous quote from Will Ferrel’s character Buddy: The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear. My brother and I always say this to each other around the holidays, so I thought this would be perfect.

I thought this would be a nice card to simply colored with several bold fonts. I am also planning on making this into larger prints if the interest is there.

ptp_card_xmascheer3pk_1I hope you like the way they came out. They are going to be my personal greeting card this holiday season. But feel free to pick up a set to send out yourself. They are available in my Etsy Shop.
