My Artwork on Burbank Life Website

My artwork was featured on the Burbank Life’s website! They had a nice write-up and selection of photographs from the Piece Riot Art Show. Pretty Neat-o!

They had a brief write-up for the show and several pictures taken during the show. There was a great selection of work on the site, and my artwork is there twice! How cool!

And yes, that is my work in the corner of this picture next to Kevin S. and his “Club Kevin” artwork.

Art On Display

Here is a view of my work on display at the gallery in Burbank!

Power Blue and Pendants? Yes PLEASE!

Each piece shown here was handmade, drawn, painted, or screen-printed by me. Everything was/is made with love and care, and an extreme attention to detail. This space measures about 10 by 10 feet, although this photograph cuts off a bit of the right-hand side.

I think that everything looks really great! The blue paint for the wall was perfect (I mixed it myself)! One of my friends even said “Page, whenever I see that color blue, I think of you!”

Stay tuned for more pictures soon!

Love Birds Painting Pt.1

Well, it seems that painting on wood is my new favorite thing. It’s wonderful fun. This “Love Birds” piece will be part  of the “Piece Riot” show coming up next week. This piece measures 2 feet by 2 feet and is painted on a lovely birch panel. Right now, I’d say this piece is about 80 percent done, so stay tuned to see the final piece and for several more paintings on wood panel.

Please stop by the “Piece Riot” show the 14th, 15th, 16th here in Burbank! I’d love to have you see my work in person instead of on a screen.

Mural Project Update

I’ve fallen a bit behind in the polls for the 1881 Project’s Mural Contest but I won’t let that get me down…

I’d like to share some  more pictures of my work for the project, both during the process and the final piece. I’m very pleased with my work, and I think it’s a great piece. I think that they needed someone to participate whose work is a little bit on the “lighter” side, and I’m glad they picked me! I’m also pleased that I got to represent lady artists for the competition as well.

Whether I win the competition or not, I’m happy I participated. Please enjoy these photographs taken by me and my Dear Boyfriend, who was kind enough to take a break from his busy weekend and hang out with me throughout most of the competition.

If you haven’t already voted for my piece, please visit the VOTING PAGE for the 1881 Project. I would greatly appreciate your vote!

**Voting has now ended. Thank you all for your support!

VOTE FOR ME!

Please VOTE FOR ME!

If you haven’t heard, I recently painted a mural for a Live-Art Competition in Los Angeles over the weekend of September 23 and 24. I created a lovely little well not-so-little, painting that depicts Hollywood Boulevard on Parade. It is a fun and playful piece that captures both my personal style, and what I always imagined Hollywood to be like. If you’ve never been to Hollywood, it’s a little different than what I imagined, but it does always feel like a parade has just ended. There is always music playing, food cooking, and there is always someone wearing a costume or handing out balloons. I think that my piece captures the idea of Hollywood very well, just without any of the copyrighted characters that seem to spend their time there.

Here’s how to vote:

More information is available on the 1881 Project website, but this is a competition for the community of Los Angeles AND the WORLD to participate in the outcome of this competition. I was picked along with 8 artists to paint an individual mural inspired by one of “Los Angeles’ Famous Boulevards”, and we each chose very different subject matter, mediums, and boulevards. If you like my piece, I would really appreciate your vote! You can vote with your email address OR through Facebook. If artistic democracy wasn’t reason enough to vote, each voter is entered to win an ipad 2.

Many Thanks,

Postcards for ArtPrize

I’m pleased to present you with the postcards for my ArtPrize project. I know I’ve been showing you the digital files for a while now, but here are photographs of the real cards. They turned out very nicely, if you ask me.

These cards are standard postcard size, meaning they can be sent in the mail just like a normal postcard OR you can slip one in an envelope.

For $0.29 you can send one of these babies anywhere in the USA.

For $0.80 you can send one of these cards to someone in Canada or Mexico.

For $0.98 you can send these postcards anywhere in the world. Neat!

It’s a bargain.

Stop by 40 Monroe Center Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan from September 21st to October 9th to pick up a card for yourself. Add an address and proper postage, then come back to www.pageredford.com and  submit the destination of the card online. I will take that data and log it on a map that visualizes the travels of everyone’s cards.

ArtPrize Competition

I am very excited to be participating in this year’s ArtPrize competition. ArtPrize is an art competition held in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September/October. Artists from all over the world come to participate, and the WHOLE CITY is FULL of art! It’s an amazing thing to behold. My artwork will be at 40 Monroe Center Street NW in Grand Rapids in what is called the Peck Building. It’s a nice old building with a lot of character, and you will be able to see my artwork in person.

My project is a set of posters and postcards that are inspired by vintage travel posters and postcards from the early 1900’s. Each card was designed by me, and all of the photographs were taken by me as well. Each design is unique, and I have created these specific cards just for ArtPrize. This project also has an online component wherein the cards gotten during ArtPrize are intended to be sent around the world by ArtPrize viewers and attendees. The recipient of the card is incouraged to log the destination of the card (where they live) on http://www.pageredford.com, and then I will create a map logging the travels of each card.

For less than a dollar, you can send a postcard anywhere in the world.
